Bilbao to become European capital of blogs and Internet start-ups March 10th, 2009

The coming 24th and 25th of April the Basque city of Bilbao will play host to nonick, a European event in which an international jury will pick the best blogs and Internet startups from throughout the continent.

nonick is an event jointly organised by eitb.com and SPRI with the collaboration of Alianzo. Participation is set to be the key characteristic of the event, as those attending will be expected to decide the course of events. In the event website www.nonickconference.com, for example, visitors are invited to collaborate in different areas of the conference, such as blogs, startups and workshops. Organisers have also decided to leave the choice of best event logo in the hands of those who use their website. The idea is that anyone can enter the competition and have the opportunity to turn their design into the event logo.

The event will also be held in the presence of some of the world´s leading specialists in Internet videos, who will debate such topics as how to measure audience figures for the Web and social networking websites and discussing cases of people who have become famous via videoblogs.
