Involving the players' themselves in thinking about their community - how can it be done? Why should it be done? What is the potential result if it is done?

Some communities are societies - treating them as societies will increase their live-span and increase their health. I will discuss this on a general level and then give a detailed description of the representative system EVE Online is using as a part of their community communications.
