Gaming and rewards, an innovative advertising system

Courtney Guertin, co-founder and CTO of Kiip.me, will give one of the seven keynotes at Nonick. Kiip.me came about as a Start Up in 2010, bringing together three of the most important markets in the world of Internet: mobile phone, video-games and advertising.
This in-game advertising platform for mobile phones eliminates the traditional banner concept and goes one step further, by integrating advertising within the video-game without affecting play or annoying the user. This innovative advertising method works through a rewards system on completing levels, screens or reaching a minimum score.
An example of this company’s enormous potential is the 300,000 dollars funding that its founders obtained prior to starting the project. Throughout 2011, investment of 4 million dollars has been secured and the company has become established as a different way of advertising and promotion, directly bringing the brands closer to the user.
During his presentation, Courtney Guertin will explain how the system of achievements and rewards works and will give the basic guidelines to increase user participation, bearing in mind factors, such as the appropriate time for rewarding, recognising and congratulating users.
