Gaming, networking and business at nonick 2012

4:42 pm in blog by nonick

Nonick, the international conference on Digital Business Trends, will open its door next Friday. Seven presentations, one panel discussion and 12 workshops form the programme of the 4th edition of nonick, this year, focused on gaming and business possibilities. During nonick, 5 selected startups will present their projects for 5 minutes (each) and people will vote to select the winner of the Start Up 2.0 Competition.
The opening of the conference will be carried out by Joshua Williams, representing Microsoft, who will explain the new paradigm of serious games: how to improve the productivity by playing. After that, Mark Barlet, founder and CEO of AbleGamers, will explain how this foundation brings greater accessibility in the digital entertainment space so that people with disabilities can gain a greater quality of life.
The next section will be devoted to the startup companies. Courtney Guertin, CTO and founder of Kiip.me, will present his company as an example of successful startup. In one year, this innovative project about making money by rewards during playing, got 4 million dollars of funding. This section will be rounded off the final of the Start Up 2.0 Competition.
In the afternoon, nonick will be focused on gamer topics. Felix Kjellberg also known online by his nickname Pewdiepie, will perform a real time demonstration on funny dubbing of videogames. He just started the dubbing as a hobby and it became a full-time job, with more than 700.000 followers in Youtube. Chris Lonnholm, CEO of MuchDifferent, will close the day, and he will present the “1000 Player FPS” project, which has been officially recognised as a Guinness Record.
