nonick, an event jointly organised by eitb.com and Spri with the collaboration of Alianzo, will this year also play host to the final of the Startup 2.0 contest where the best of the European startups will compete. ‘Startup’ refers to a new enterprise that is trying to break into the market with an innovative product.

With two previous contests already taken place, Startup 2.0 has become recognised as the most important competition of its kind on the continent, testament to which are sponsorship agreements with the UK’s Seedcamp and France’s le Web, both unmissable events for internet entrepreneurs in London and Paris alike.

The last competition was held in Barcelona, where a total of 400 projects were presented from across 30 European countries. Entry to this year’s competition will be open until 14th April.

Users can vote for the best projects via internet until the registration and voting period closes on 14th April. The 10 finalists will then present their projects at nonick in front of an international jury made up of web experts, representatives from capital-risk firms and successful entrepreneurs.
