This year, nonick is hosting the first European Community Managers Session, organized in collaboration with Aerco, the Spanish Association of Heads of Online Communities. The session will take place in the afternoon of Friday May 14; the initial part will include three presentations in which the heads of three very different communities will talk about the challenges they face in their individual careers.

The community managers sharing their experiences will be Johannes Petur Oskarsson, Community Manager at EVE Online (Multigame community platform), Alberto Bjeren Knapp, CEO of The Cocktail and Luca Messagio, European Managing Director of Zooppa.com (a user-generated advertising company).
Following the presentations, there will be a round table discussion with Mark Rale (Community Managers Association of Germany), Kristen Wagenaar (Dutch Community Managers Association), Blaise Grimes-Viort (Head of Communities & Social Media for The National Magazine Company) and Gabriel Aldamiz-Echevarria (chicisimo.com). The discussion will focus on the work of community managers nowadays and will be chaired by José Antonio Gallego, chairman of AERC.

At the end of the day, there is an optional activity planned which will involve bringing together a number of good Community Manager practices into a wiki format. This activity will be coordinated by Amaia Garcia of Creativity Zentrum.
